<G.Huston@aarnet.edu.au>
This is the preliminary announcement of the eighth Australian
Networkshop, with sponsorship from the Australian Academic & Research
Network.
NETWORKSHOP '92
The eighth Australian Networkshop will be held at Bond University on
the Gold Coast of Australia from 2nd to 4th December 1992.
Networkshop '92 is the annual national workshop of the academic and
research networking community. The workshop is expected to attract
people involved in networking, computer-based communications, and
usage of electronic communications from throughout Australia and New
Zealand.
FOCUS
In addition to the traditional emphasis on the technical development
and support of the national network, a major focus of Networkshop '92
will be on the end user of the network. Special emphasis will be
placed on network services and the significant benefits to the user
community of using the network to complement or replace the
traditional methods of gathering and disseminating information.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Attendance is invited from a broad range of people ranging from those
involved in the development and management of computer networks (e.g.,
network engineers), through network service providers (e.g.,
librarians), to users with an existing or potential usage of
electronic communications (e.g., everybody!).
FURTHER INFORMATION
Full particulars of the Workshop and a formal CALL FOR PARTICIPATION
will be disseminated at a later date as the details are finalised. In
the meantime, any requests for information should be directed to the
address below.
